I am *Ramesh Nagaraj Rao*. "I am the Chair of the DN3 Program and Professor of Communication at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. I have a BA (Economics, Sociology, Political Science) from St. Joseph´s College/ Bangalore University. I received a post-graduate diploma in journalism from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. I was awarded the prestigious K. M. Munshi award for the 1984 batch of journalism students at the Bhavan.
I worked as a bank officer, a school teacher and a copy editor in India before arriving in the US in 1985. I received an MS in Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi and my PhD in Communication from Michigan State University. I live in Columbus, Georgia, with my wife Sujaya, and son Sudhanva.
I have written numerous articles for regional American newspapers like the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Columbia Daily Tribune in Missouri, and the Richmond Times-Dispatch in Virginia as well as national newspapers like The Washington Post (Washington, D. C.) and The Guardian (London). My essays have appeared in "India Abroad" (New York) and I now write regularly for The Pioneer (New Delhi) and for the Patheos, a spirituality and religion website."
